Mental health advocates receive Queen’s Birthday honours

Mental Health Australia CEO Mr Frank Quinlan has today congratulated the mental health advocates who received Queen’s Birthday honours yesterday.

From Claremont in Western Australia to Boolaroo in NSW, mental health consumers, professionals, administrators and advocates have been honoured in areas as diverse as infant mental health, community health, mental health leadership in the Australian Defence Force, and mental health reform.

“Our mental health system relies heavily on the passion, professionalism and the expertise of many people, and I would like to congratulate these worthy recipients, a reflection of the work and success of the wider sector,” said Mr Quinlan.

“To see mental health advocates honoured in such a way only highlights the importance of the work we do day in and day out to achieve our vision at Mental Health Australia of mentally healthy people and mentally healthy communities.”

“Mental Health Australia members and I would also particularly like to congratulate Mental Health Australia Chair Ms Jennifer Westacott AO and Deputy Chair Ms Robyn Kruk AO on the honour of Officer in the General Division.

“Both Jennifer and Robyn have been assets to the mental health sector for some time, and to have their contributions to public administration and reform acknowledged, is a terrific and deserving achievement for both.”
