Mental Health Australia welcomes Dr Peggy Brown to the National Mental Health Commission
Mental Health Australia is pleased to welcome Dr Peggy Brown as the new CEO of the National Mental Health Commission.
“Dr Brown has fine credentials to take on the role at such a critical time for reform” said Frank Quinlan, CEO of Mental Health Australia.
“While Dr Brown has outstanding expertise in mental health, and a deep understanding of the workings of government at all levels, Dr Brown has also demonstrated a deep commitment to engage with people who live with the experience of mental illness every day.
“Between the implementation of the NDIS and the reforms to Primary Health Networks, there is currently more movement of mental health money and resources than ever before.
“We hope the National Mental Health Commission can play a key role in ensuring this money finds its way to those for whom it is intended.
“We look forward to working together with Dr Brown and the National Mental Health Commission to support better mental health for all Australians.
“I join the Minister Sussan Ley in thanking Mr David Butt for his work in the role, and wish him well in his new role as CEO of the National Rural Health Alliance” said Mr Quinlan, speaking in Canberra.
