NDIS Consultation draft for comment
Many providers of community based mental health services are experiencing first-hand the unintended consequences of the transfer of Commonwealth programs for people with severe and persistent illness and complex needs to the NDIS.
This draft position paper has been prepared to advocate for adequate sustained funding for people who are ineligible for an NDIS package who require ongoing mental health support in the community.
The position paper will inform the Joint Standing Committee on the NDIS inquiry into the provision of services under the NDIS for people with psychosocial disabilities as well as the Productivity Commission’s Review of the NDIS in 2017. Members of Mental Health Australia were invited to contribute comments and feedback on the draft paper.
