Wednesday, September 13, 2023
Mental Health Australia’s 2023 Report to the Nation provides a “pulse-check” of the mental health and wellbeing of people in Australia.
Over half of Australians say rising cost of living is having a big impact on their mental health, and one in five have found cost to be a barrier to accessing mental health support over the past year. Particular population groups are feeling these impacts even more.
Compared to 2022, Australians’ overall mental health remains the same, though with some increases in people feeling happier and more connected. There has also been an increase in Australians seeking professional mental health support, including through digital mental health services.
